Christmas Again But...

It's getting close to Christmas again and everyone seems to be in a holiday mood.

But... As it is getting closer to the due date of our first baby I am getting more anxious and nervous about what life has in store for us.

I am having nightmares about my labour and birth and it's just not possible not to. Especially after we went to Parenting Classes and we were told what we can expect while we are in labour and during delivery.

We were revealed little secrets about the process of child birth which for some reason no one has mentioned before. It is a conspiracy, I think, because if women knew what is to come will never decide to give birth and this will make humans extinct.

We spoke a long time for pain relief. About the options. Before that moment half of my class had decided on epidural. Not anymore. The midwife actually explained what happens, how is it done, the risk for the baby, the risk for you and that if you have an epidural there is a great chance for instrumental delivery which involves episiotomy as well. How lovely. And the look on everyones faces when they saw the lenght of the needle that will go in your spine I will never forget.

There is nothing else interesting going on in our lives at the moment. But what can be more important than the birth of your own child?
